What a day It was. The ROTARY FEIL MAREE , back on the street again and accompanied by the fabulous CLASSIC CAR RALLY on Cromartie Car Park.
We wish to thank all the organisations, businesses and individuals who helped to make it a great day---including the weather man who kept the rain away!). It truly was a community event.
We want to thank Frank Nicol Garden & Farm Macinery, who transported the stalls and accessories to and from the High Street. Fingal Lodge for their invaluable help in setting up and dismantling. Johnny Bremner who rescued the event from a double booking of the community stage unit. Higher Ground for towing it to its alloted site. Batty's Baps for providing rolls, sausages and bacon to everone after two hours hard labour setting up. Inver Ross Accordian and Fiddlers for providing music to liven the day along with Aileen Watson's dancers who skillfully entertained the crowd. The Feis Rois Ceilidh Trail who entertaineds in the afternoon. The Maciver family were the stage management team with son Ruaidh as the sound board man. Classic Cars were superbly organised and managed by Gordon Macrea. Impromptu and impressive piping from Highli Highland Pipe Band. Alchemist who provided the prize for this year's window competition and Yard Bombers who knitted the animals for the 35 proprieters who dispalyed them (hidden) in their windows. The competition was won by 4 year old Breagha Kyle from Blairinich Strathpeffer. The Stall Holders provided raffles, home baking, books, bottle stalls, nails in the bale, for us to buy and donate; and the money raised will help them to stay afloat in what are these trying financial times. Thanks to everyone who dug into pockets, wallets and purses.
Finally, thanks to the Dingwall Roltarians who plan, procure, repair mataerials, endanger their lives posting at roundabouts , prepare schedules, put on their tabards and get stuck iin on the day and who give up their time at planning meetings for months prior to the event. You deserve a handclap too.
But, without the involvement and support of everyone on the Feil day, we would not have had such a sucessful event.
Many thanks. See you again next year.
