Club Meeting 21st July

Zoom meeting with Janet Crampton, District 1040 End Polio Now coordinator


Another successful Zoom meeting this week with 25 members joining to hear a talk from Janet Crampton, Rotary in D1040 End Polio Now Coordinator. Janet talked about her new role coordinating District 1040 activities related to the End Polio now campaign. She also shared her experiences during a recent trip to India where she saw first hand the work Rotary International does to immunise children against this dreadful disease, working with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and other partners.

We raise money for various local charitable organisations and also support individuals facing financial hardship

Each year we hold a Craft and Collectables Fair in the Spring and another in November

Church Square, Scunthorpe, was Purple For Polio again on 24th October 2021. We also planted purple crocus bulbs at Ashby Link, where the Mayor of North Lincolnshire joined us, to raise awareness of the Rotary End Polio Now campaign.

One of the main focus areas for the Rotary Foundation Charity is the campaign to end polio

A forum to keep in touch and build on links with businesses and other organisations in our local community.

We enjoy a variety of social events and visits.

We work with local schools to provide interview experience to Students, and also arrange visits to local businesses for our members.

We aim to sponsor a young person on the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Award programme, provide a Kids Out event for a local school, and promote Rotakids locally.
