The Community
Annually we fundraise to help local Scarborough charities.
This year's Presidents nominated charity is Future Works North Yorkshire.
Principal Projects at present time;
• Annual Carers’ Holiday
• Annual Santa Collection
• Annual Christmas Toy A
The charities and organisations which benefit cover a wide range of ages, groups and services.
A few examples of recipient Groups which have benefitted from this collection in recent years include Scarborough YMCA; Scarborough Boys Brigade, Scarborough Parkinson Society, Scarborough Survivors, Scarborough Sea Cadets, Scarborough Amicable Society, Scarborough’s Side by Side, Willow’s Lull, Ryedale Young Carers ,Scarborough Alzheimer's Society, St.Catherine’s Hospice and The Borough of Scarborough’s Mayoress’s Community Fund, the latter of which ,in turn ,donates to a wide range of good causes across the Borough of Scarborough-decided upon by a separate process.

Carer's Holiday
more In 1968, the Club launched the Elderly People's holiday week for 40 deserving older people at Rindleside Hotel. Its success saw the initiative continue annually, later being rebranded in the 1980s as the Carers Holiday Scheme.
Christmas Toy Appeal
more Founded by Nigel Wood in 2011–12, the Toy Appeal has grown from 360 toys donated by 3 businesses to 40,000 toys from 53 businesses in 2024, supporting around 4,000 families across a 400-mile area.
Annual Rotary Santa Collection
more Since 1950, the Club’s famous Christmas Santa collection has raised over £150,000 for local good causes. In 2025 alone, Rotary Santas collected £2,288, continuing a cherished tradition of community fundraising.
Rotary House (The Rotary Club of Scarborough Trust)
more Since 1972, Rotary House has served charitable purposes, first providing pioneering holidays for families affected by renal dialysis. Later a bereavement centre, it now supports the Wilf Ward Family Trust in delivering specialist community care.
