World Polio Day Fundraiser

On the 17th of February, we held a fundraising event called 'Preposterous Stories' which is run by our good friend Roger Stevenson and his team.

Southend City Rotary was asked if we could assist at Appleton School with Mock Interviews for their year 10 students. Rotarian Carrie Lynch, a retired Head Teacher stepped forward and had a rewarding day assisting the school.

Southend City Rotary members joined with Rochford Rivercare team to help clear approximately 5cu metres of rubbish from the sea wall on Sunday

Southend City, Thorpe Bay, and Westcliff Rotary Clubs have joined together to deliver these fantastic Rotary competitions to support our Youth.

These days the environment is on everyones mind from Global Warming, community recycling and reducing the use of plastics. We are starting by supporting Wrap Up which is the recycling of coats and are setting up a recycling point in Southend.

Rotary is responsible for the World eradication of Polio and we are 99.9% there, just a final push is needed and we are committed to support the Rotary programs until we achieve a world free of Polio

Southend City Rotary was Chartered on 27th July 2022 and we are passionate about helping others. We are working in our community and have made a start by volunteering at Little Havens Hospice and assisting Rochford Rivercare keep the river free of plastic
