RICHMOND ROTARY SUPPORTS MARRICK PRIORY

Jim Gleave, head of Marrick Priory Outdoor Education Centre recently gave a short talk to Richmond Rotary Club. He said that Marrick Priory offered short residential courses for schools and youth groups, enabling them to experience various adventure activities such as canoeing, wall climbing and abseiling.  He also explained that for some children these were life changing experiences.

At the end of the evening Rotarian Richard Gibson, organiser of the Club’s annual Art Exhibition, presented Marrick Priory with a cheque for £550. Jim Gleave welcomed this and said that the money would go to the bursary fund for individuals who could not afford the full cost of residence.

Rotary President John Morton said:

‘This is a great example of Richmond Rotary Club helping our local community. Using funds raised from our excellent annual art exhibition to support the work of Marrick Priory makes great sense for everyone and especially benefits the next generation.’
