ART and CRAFTS BENEFIT EVERYONE

Richmond Rotary Club has once again opened its annual charity art exhibition at The Station in Richmond.

The exhibition runs until Tuesday 4 November and includes pictures in addition to a wide variety of beautiful artefacts and woodcarving. All the work is for sale in aid of Rotary charities, including primarily Marrick Priory Outdoor Centre.

Organising the event for Richmond Rotary Club, Richard Gibson said:

‘This is a really exciting selection of a wide variety of art by professional and amateur artists. The Station is a great venue with a high footfall where lots of people can enjoy the exhibition without booking or charge. We are grateful to the Station staff for their continuing support.’

The exhibition was opened by Rotary President John Morton who commented that it was great to be holding the exhibition again. In opening the exhibition, he thanked Richard Gibson and all his fellow Rotarians who had helped to set things up and said:

‘To a huge extent the exhibition symbolises what Rotary stands for at its best. It is firmly based in our local community, gives opportunities to a large number of great local artists, and ultimately benefits less fortunate people.’
