Wrap Up Coat Collection

We are running Wrap Up in Devon again this year and are now collecting collect good second hand coats that, through working with local partners, will go directly to people locally, who struggle to keep warm during the winter months.

Following the success of this project run in Devon for the first time in Devon last year, we are pleased to be working with project originators, Hands on London, and local partners again in October 2024 to collect and distribute clean, good quality second hand coats to people who need them and are looking to extend the project.

We are particularly grateful to Bideford and Torrington Rotary Clubs for their help with collections and Securitas in Exeter and South Molton CofE United Primary School.

The collection of coats, for men, women, young people or children, is taking place throughout October, with collection points in Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth, South Molton, Tavistock and Torrington.  We even have a mobile collection by one of our members as they travel in their mobile home and meet other mobile home club members!

Coats collected will be distributed to charities and organisations that work with people who are in need of them.

Last year 824 coats and other items, including 6 new dog coats, were collected and distributed to local charities.  We hope to beat that number this year!

We are grateful to the following venues for being collection points:

Ottery St Mary - Ottery Help Scheme

Sidmouth - Sidmouth Library

South Molton - The Amory Centre, The Parish Church and Sainsburys

Tavistock - Fairway Furniture

Torrington - Bickford Centre

Coats will be distributed through local charities like Julian House, Ottery Help Scheme, Devon Libraries, The Freedom Centre and others.

More details are available on the Wrap Up website, which is in the process of being updated right now.  https://wrapupuk.org
