On 16th February we were joined by four Rotarians from York Vikings, our speaker was Andy Dennis on working with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). Andy, who lives in Starbeck, is a Staff Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Harrogate District Hospital, but also volunteers with Médecins Sans Frontières. He gave us a fascinating and inspirational talk about the organisation’s work including his experiences during the Ebola outbreak. Andy later commented on his blog, "Massive thanks to everyone who came to my presentation tonight from Knaresborough Rotary club. They were a lovely group of people who made me feel extremely welcome. Thank you, especially to Brian for arranging the talk, David who said very kind things about my presentation and Stephanie who chatted to me during the meal and was wonderful company. The group very generously donated £260 tonight, which I will add to the ongoing total in the next couple of days. Thank you once again to everyone at the Rotary Club of Knaresborough. it was an absolute pleasure".
