The 2025 Christmas Toy Collection provided presents to over 900 children.
A special thank you to everyone who generously supported Knaresborough Rotary and Gracious Street Methodist Church’s Annual Toy Collection. The largest ever number of toys were donated and distributed via King James’s School and the Salvation Army. Major Andrew Vertigan at the Salvation Army in York said “May I extend our sincere appreciation for the donation of Toys from Rotary to our York Toy Appeal 2025. It’s fair to say it was sadly the biggest one we have ever undertaken with many more referrals this past Christmas than previous years. In total we catered some 3500 presents for just over 500 families and over 900 children”. Toys were donated from the SnowBall, from Churches at Scotton, Staveley and Farnham, the U3a History of Art Group who meet at Gracious Street Methodist Church, The Malt Shovel at Brearton, The Market Tavern in Knaresborough as well as members of Gracious Street Methodist Church and Knaresborough Rotary Club. The Knaresborough collection was organised this year by Rotarians Carol and Clive Rodgers. There were so many toys donated that they had to press gang their daughter to help with a second car!
