BRADGATE ROTARY SUPER HERO SCARECROW FESTIVAL 2021 WAS A FANTASTIC SUCCESS
It would not have been possible without the support of the community and the fantastic efforts by all Scarecrowers! Thank you!
It was certainly lovely to see so many people wandering around the village there seemed to be a really nice 'buzz' in the air.
We have raised in the region of £700, all of which will go to our charities. Which is just fantastic
This was our first attempt at organising such an event and we would very much welcome any feedback as to how things went from the perspective of all from the community and what we might do differently if we were to do it again next year.
We are very much aware that there were some glitches with the process for entering and that is something that we will certainly be looking at.
We would also like to record our thanks to the two judges that came along (both from outside Groby) and visited all of the scarecrows around the village. I know that it was a really difficult and time-consuming task to not only go round and view all of the entries, but also to come up with a winner from such a brilliant selection.
They did, though, have to make a final decision and I can announce that the winner was the scarecrow display at:
4 Spinney Side
Congratulations!!
There were many others that came very close and one of the learning points for next time will almost certainly be to look at whether we need different categories and more prizes.
So, thank you again for entering and to everyone who came to view all the scarecrows
