The results are in...

The judges have chosen from more than 250 photographs the 12 which will grace the Bradgate Rotary calendar for 2027.

Over a decade, the calendars have raised many thousands of pounds for Bradgate Park Trust and many Rotary-chosen charities.

Three of the photos chosen for the 2027 calendar were taken by Malcolm Heaven.

The judges’ favourite, though, was taken by Matthew Soulsby. Not only does it appear on the August 2027 page, but also the front cover.
It is a stunning photo of a double rainbow over the ruins in the centre of Bradgate Park.

Matthew took the photo at the launch of the 2026 calendar a year and day before this year’s launch at the launch of the 2027 calendar. Each of the winning photographers is invited to a launch event in the Deer Barn in the centre of the park followed by a ranger-led guided walk in parts of the park not normally open to the public. On September 3, 2025, just as the talented photographers and their Bradgate Rotary hosts set off for the tour, the skies cleared and a beautiful double rainbow appeared. Many of the photographers present reached for their cameras. Matthew was not the only person that captured the image, but he submitted the stunning image which will surely drive sales of the 2027 calendar.

Unable to be at the launch were Dave Capella (January) and Mark Mullen (April).

The calendars are available now at a cost of only £8 each in time to make the perfect Christmas gift for family and friends.
