Proud of your pooch?

Bradgate Rotary are holding Bark in the Park again this year on Sunday, September 20, at Bradgate Park Hallgates (Cropston End).

It will be a fun day of dog displays (assistance dogs and training methods), a Novelty Dog Show for all dogs to enter, food and stalls to browse of doggy- and non doggy items.

Admission to the event, from 10am to 4pm, is free and among the fun events will be a competition in which dog handlers will compete in and egg-and-spoon race while keeping their dogs on a lead. There will be a reptile stall for children to handle and learn about them.

Now organisers led by club president Andrea Wilkinson are compiling lists for the ‘traditional’ dog show competitions.

The classes include (in this order):

• Puppy love (<1 year old)
• Best young handler
• Golden Oldie (>8 years old)
• Small and sassy
• Big and beautiful
• Waggiest tail
• Best trick
• The dog that the judge would most like to take home
• Fancy dress
• Best in Show
