Chloe will share with us her passion for politics and what her life as an MP is like.
First elected in 2009, Chloe is one of Britain’s youngest MPs. She chairs the APPGs on Youth Employment and Democratic Participation, and was awarded both “Youth Friendly MP 2014” and “Grassroots Diplomat Initiative - Business Driver 2014”. She has international experience representing Britain at the inaugural global youth IPU conference and training young political activists in Africa and Eastern Europe with WFD. Chloe was recently asked by the UN to help train new parliamentarians in Myanmar.
Chloe chaired the National Youth Agency’s Commission into Young People & Enterprise (2014-15) and was a commissioner on the Industry and Parliament Trust’s Youth Skills Commission (2014-15). Locally, Chloe founded the Norwich for Jobs project, which has supported the halving of youth unemployment in Norwich.
She grew up in Norfolk, studying at two comprehensive schools before going to the University of York. Before Parliament, Chloe worked for Deloitte, a leading international firm advising private business and public bodies.
Chloe serves on the Conservative Party Board and works as a Parliamentary Adviser to the Party Chairman, recently working on the Party’s organisational review panel.
Recent Parliamentary work includes scrutiny of the Modern Slavery Act, the Childcare Payments Act and the Immigration Bill. Chloe also co-chairs the Great Eastern Mainline Rail Taskforce (2013-15), which is securing over £500m of investment for East Anglia.
