Dundee Club Centenary

Claverhouse gifted the Dundee Club a Lectern to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Dundee

The Rotary Club of Dundee was delighted to receive this handsome lectern from Claverhouse Rotary Club to mark the Dundee club’s centenary.

This most generous gift was designed and crafted by Claverhouse member Joe Dagen.

He painstakingly assembled it from more than 70 pieces of European oak and incorporated power, light and usb connections to make it adaptable for all communication platforms. The Rotary badge is hand carved on lime, reputed to be 100 years old, the same age as the Club itself.

The lectern was presented at Dundee’s first post-lockdown lunch back at the Invercarse Hotel by Claverhouse president Robert Burns.

The lectern will be the centrepiece of the top table at the Dundee club’s weekly meetings and will also be used at special dinners.

President Andrew Argo said: "The lectern is a wonderful gift that we were thrilled to receive from our daughter club."
