Rotary International has awarded a certificate of appreciation to our Club in recognition of us raising over £1000 in the Rotary year 2024/2025. Throughout the year events are held to raise money for this ongoing project started by Rotary to rid the world of the Polio virus which so cruelly causes paralysis in young children. Their efforts , combined with many other organisations who have since joined, has reduced the number of cases world-wide from 350,000 per year to just 40 in 2 countries.
Rotary's efforts are recognised by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation who triple any donation made by Rotary to make a significant difference in the campaign - we are this close to eradication and the efforts must continue.
