Rotary has been working since 1979 for the global eradication of polio. In that time over 3 billion children have been vaccinated in 122 countries and many lives saved . Today polio continues to be endemic in just 2 countries - Pakistan and Afghanistan. The latest figures show 24 cases reported in Pakistan and 4 in Afghanistan. It is vital that the work continue to rid these countries of polio and ensure that other countries are kept polio free and that the disease is stopped worldwide.

The Rotary Toybox appeal provides Christmas gifts for children living in domestic abuse refuges. Each box costs £30 and contains toys to the value of £80. Boxes purchased through our donations will be delivered to local refuges in South Essex.
