The Rotary Club of Wendover and District would like to thank all 100 performers, (age range 8 to 75), and thank The Wendover Parish Council for a generous grant and their support, and for all those who helped, including; The Wendover Youth Centre, Team SSAFA, RAF Catering, Team Raj and Team Rotary, and importantly, all those who came to enjoy this year’s sensational November concert.
Everyone made it a night to remember. The theme of the concert centered around Wendover Remembers and the centenerary of WWI as well as WWII. The Children of the Gateway Scool Chamber Choir sang a medley of songs from the era. This was followed by Vera Lynn songs from the Military Wives Choir Halton all to the accompaniement of the Band of the RAF Regiment. In the second half the Band was in full swing performing a number of pieces including an amazing setting of the Evening Hymn, Last Post andSunset. This led to a happy and glorious flag waving finale with Sea Somgs, Jerusalem and Pomp and Circumstance March No 1. The profits from the evening will be shared equally between Soldiers Sailors and AirForce Association and WheelPower
