Inaugural Charter Evening

Inaugural Charter Evening

Chartridge Conference Centre was the setting for the formal acceptance of the club into the worldwide family of Rotary with the presentation of their charter by Immediate Past Rotary GB&I President Ian Thomson. The club became eligible for membership of Rotary on June 30th 2009 which was the very last day of office for both Rotary GB&I President Ian and Rotary District Governor Les Lee.

The evening was attended by 106 guests representing 25 clubs from three Rotary Districts. Instead of presenting gifts to the visitors the money saved was used to buy Aquaboxes, a Rotary project to provide clean water for six months for families caught up in natural disasters.

The slideshow images show the charter being presented, immediate Past Rotary GB&I President Ian Thomson (speaking) and immediate Past District Governor Les Lee with President Cheryl Law.
