During our 2015-2016 Social Action Committee, we agreed that a project focussing on the more mature members of our community should be sought. After much discussion it was decided that Celia Gardner would explore the possibility of working with one of the social housing providers within the City of Worcester.
After discussing this idea with Sanctuary Grove, they showed a lot of interest in our suggestion and a meeting was arranged to discuss the project in more detail with a representative at the Sanctuary complex in St John's.
Since this discussion, our members have taken part in a number of events at the complex, including Desert Island Disc, quizzes, poetry and other sessions.
After all of the sessions we have taken part in, we have been humbled by the number of residents who have taken time to thank those members who attended.
Our members are planning to continue taking part in a variety of sessions at the Sanctuary Grove complex in St John’s throughout the end of this year, with travel talks, Room 101, Halloween surprise and Christmas celebration sessions having already been added to the diary.
