RN flyer

Welcome to the Upptown Races and thank you for supporting the Rotary Club of Uppingham and our Charities; below are a few notes on the format of your evening’s entertainment:

· The first race will commence at 8pm before which we invite you to partake of a welcoming glass of Prosecco

· Each race consists of  a filmed 8 horse race on a British or Irish race course

· Betting will be on a Tote system with a £1 per unit stake—50% of the pool will be retained for our Charity Fund and the  remainder will be paid out to the winning punters.

· Each winning owner will receive a bottle of Prosecco wine with the

          exception of the last race

· The horses in the last race will be auctioned during the event; 50% of the sum raised will be retained for the Charity Fund and the remainder will be paid to the winning owner; the 2nd and 3rd placed owners will each receive a bottle of Prosecco.

· A hot buffet supper provided by Alex Burgess, the UTCC caterer, will be served after race 4 at about 8.45pm.  Requests for a vegetarian option to 01572 822568 by not later than 8 November please

· Corinavirus is still prevalent in the area, so we wish to reduce movement round the room during the event—it would help us immensely, if you feel  able, to place your bets in advance using our advance booking form at our website: www.uppinghamrotary.org

· Betting Reconciliation. Over the weekend following the event, individual emails will be sent following a reconciliation of: all bets placed—both prepaid & yet to be paid (including those recorded at the event), winnings, auction purchases and prize money to arrive at a final settlement figure for each punter.
