Item 1. Financial Report 2022/23

The Trust accounts to 30 Jun 2023 have been examined by Chris Sworn, a qualified accountant, and represent a true and accurate account of the Trust’s affairs; a copy is attached; we are not required to forward full accounts to the Charity Commission.

The Trust made the following major donations during the year:

The Trust created reserves of £3058 in order to provide funds for: Local Family support (£2000), Ukrainian relief (£790) and Food Bank support (£268)

Some members continued to make periodic regular donations to Rotary Foundation thus reducing our reliance on fundraising to meet our annual Foundation donation target.


Item 2.  Objectives for the new Financial Year 2023/24

The club has made provision by reserving funds for use locally for supporting those persons suffering hardship during the winter, food banks and Ukrainian guests.

The Club will continue to support:

·         Rotary International Polio Eradication Campaign.

·         The Rotary Foundation.

·         Youth Speaks and Young RYLA.

·         Sailability and a new town centre defibrillator.

·         Local and national charities and charitable projects.

·         International projects when opportunity offers.

Item 3.  Trust Administration

All the current Trustees namely:

·         Hugh Holden

·         Lesley Wellen (ex officio)

·         Paul Laird (ex officio)

·         Shane James

·         Keith Edwards (ex officio)

agreed to continue serving and were reappointed at the Club Annual General Meeting

The Trust bank account was again maintained at Barclays. Three Trustees (Paul Laird, Lesley Wellen, Hugh Holden) are authorised signatories to the Trust bank account at Barclays Bank Ltd with any 2 required to sign cheques and authorize electronic bank transfers.

The Annual Report Form has been submitted to the Charity Commission and will be available on the Commission website. 

This Report will be displayed on the Club Website once it has been approved by the Club.
