Club President Ian Kerr is shown presenting a cheque for £700 to the local Firefly Cancer Awareness and Support Charity representative Chewy Bacchus, The club planned to run a fund raising Race Night but unfortunately with the Coronavirus problems this had to be cancelled after tickets had been sold. All ticket holders were contacted and asked if, rather than having a refund, they would allow their money to be donated to this local Charity. All agreed! Members who had not originally bought tickets also donated.
Chewy from Firefly said “We would like to thank The Rotary Club of Doncaster St Leger for this initiative which raised a superb £700.00 for Firefly. We can’t thank you enough for your continued loyal support in these troubled times. Take care and stay safe.”
The club officials made sure that all social distancing was in place at the presentation.
