Annual General Meeting

AGM breakfast meeting
Kathy welcomed everyone to the AGM.
Grace was given by Paul, and a delicious breakfast was partaken by most present.

Birthdays
- Andrew B will be celebrating tomorrow 
Reports from committee chairs and club officers 2026/7
- Reports from the president and chairs were circulated with the agenda and are
taken as read.
- International report was amended to include the medical and disability equipment
donation organised by Spyros and TWAM organised by Andrew M.
- Foundation report: successfully organised the purple light up Whitstable
Playhouse in October. We have been able to make a substantial donation to end
Polio Now.
- Maggie sadly reported no activity for Youth this year. She is also stepping down
as committee chair.
- Pete informed the club that Deborah has expressed an interest in joining our club,
and Pat knows another lady who is interested in coming along. Dave C will
hopefully be attending again soon. Sadly Sue Pis resigning from the club.
- Pete has asked Sarah to take on membership duties and Pete will be seeking a
new Youth chair as well as a VP, Pippa’s name was thrown in the ring with an
expletive response!
Sarah’s Induction
- The Object of Rotary was read by Sheila.

- Kathy welcomed Sarah to the Club, District and Rotary.
- Spyros introduced Sarah to the club. She moved in opposite him and Pippa in
February and over G&Ts encouraged her to come along to a meeting. He
commended her to the Club as a new member.
- Kathy gave Sarah her badge,car sticker and a copy of the Object of Rotary. Sarah
was welcomed by the Club.
- Sarah said she had been made very welcome and felt part of an extended family.
AOB
- Kathy visited Whitstable rotary speaker meeting - John Hippisley a Canterbury
ghost expert. He provides guided tours in Canterbury. He was proposed as
speaker and potentially a social event.
- Maxine thanked Kathy for her year. Maxine will continue as ADG for another two
years. She asked us to continue the campaign lobbying the government. The
2026/7 DG Graham Forster wants to come and meet clubs, potential invite?
Reminder for compliance form,which are in hand.
- District Handover 7/06/26
- District Conference 17-18/10 in Eastbourne.
- District Assembly this year had key speakers and session groups, it would be
worth considering attendance next year for club officers.
- On 26/6 at Canterbury Christchurch University is hosting Canterbury Rotary youth
science competition. More information is available from Maxine.
- Lesley has gained 5, yes FIVE! certificates from her on line training to enable her
to apply for district grants. 
Greetings from other clubs
- Canterbury and Dover.
Raffle won by Godfrey,he exchanged bubbles for a nice bottle of red.
Master at Arms
- Fined us a for a number of misdemeanours including: leaving early, no availability,
jamming session, parking outside the lines, bad language, lacking fitness and
forgetfulness. Cross fine for trying to get into the wrong car!
- Godfrey then regaled us with a story about shoplifting at in of peaches.

Final toast given by Godfrey.
Our Handover meeting will be at the Monument, in the Marquee on
Thursday 25/06, an evening meeting.
Next meeting Thursday28/05 7.30 for 8am at the Monument.
