A very nice meal at The Heron, our thanks to them and the
friendly staff.
The evening was then taken up by a talk from Sue
McKenzie about her recent expedition to Western Mongolia
on behalf of the Exploration Society to place camera traps
in the Altai Mountains. With the main aim of tracking snow
leopards.
Fascinating pictures and description about how and where
34 cameras were to be situated. With lots of pics of other
native animals as well as a few of the snow leopard .
The Mongolian people, mainly nomadic, were very happy
people and were very friendly to the explorers.
The team arrived in time for Mongolias National Festival,
and were given the delight of the national drink, fermented
mare’s milk. !!!!???
Thank you Sue for a very engaging talk.
Andrew B delighted us with a short poem called Barts
Come Uppance..
Toast was given by Gerry.
