Our Normal Weekly Meeting
Thursday, 29 January 2026 Rotary Evening Meeting Apologies- Gerry, Maggie, Paul, Jean, Lesley, Pat, Sue P. Guests and visitors- Julie Camburn, community connector for the Stroke Association. Diane Coupland, Kevin Fielding, Pat Brealy, Jill Sissons. Kathy welcomed everyone to the meeting, stating she is back in mind and body after her trip to the far east. International Andrew B proposed a District Grant application be submitted by the club for the African Oyster Trust to fund the training of a midwife. Andrew M seconded and the members agreed unanimously. Breakfast meeting 19/02 Breakfast is not available at the Monument on this date so Kathy and Pete are seeking alternatives. Pete will contact the Heron in Herne Bay who may be able to accommodate us. Grace provided by Andrew M, followed by a delicious meal. Stroke Awareness Robert introduced Julie Camburn who proceeded to give a very comprehensive presentation on the Stroke Association, the facts and figures, signs and symptoms of stroke and TIA and immediate action and treatment . Knowledge of the FAST test is good for everyone to have as early identification and treatment is essential. See below.
