Welcome back Kathy, in body but not in mind, due to jet lag
so Pete still in the hot seat…
Pete visited Canterbury Sunrise this week, they had a
presentation from Antoinette Groom re a music group
wishing to encourage new people to join. Pete has the
leaflet for any interested..
He spoke to Maxine (D. AG) who will be attending our
meeting on feb 19th, regarding an email that was sent out
to clubs requesting that they have a presence at local
supermarkets on 23rd Feb (Rotary Day) with a mind to
spread the word about the work Rotary does both
nationally and internationally. Pete explained that the
request was too short notice and therefore we will not be
participating this year, but will have our own presence at
Harbour Day (Aug 15th).
Finance
The club has agreed to donate £250 to a charity in
memory of Marian and Reggie
for Marian to the Whit and Tank Friends of Hospital
for Reggie to the Over 60’s club in Whitstable
Money is available for a further district grant, David
would like any ideas for an application.
Fundraising
Car parking coming up Saturday 31st January
Social
Bowling is booked for 13th March 5.30 and a meal to
follow at The Hampton Inn at 8pm.
International
TWAM is set for 18th April
Andrew M requested that we look out for an email, on
its way, regarding John Edwards is asking for us to vote for
council funds towards the costs of TWAM
W4W is set for 20th March
Gardening
Maureen has asked that in a few weeks could a small
working party do some weeding at Whit n Tank.

Why is the pub called The Monument ? Church was
once the main route to Canterbury and there was originally
a monument on this site.
How many founder members still members? 4
What celebrates 75 years this year? The Archers
The only winner was Maggie, who answered 4 founder
members.

it was only poetry, he found
which had any use
so he reached for his copy

And bludgeoned the President
of The United States

Next week is and evening meeting 6.30 for 7pm
