A delicious meal was served and eaten. Kevin gave a very interesting talk and presentation on his trips driving ambulances and 4X4 vehicles loaded with essential medical equipment to Ukraine. Organised one by Medical Lifelines for Ukraine and the second Rotary. • Interesting groups of people, mainly British but also French and American too. 1 • Drivers had to raise at least £7k sponsorship to cover travel, hotel and vehicle costs, • Two trips, second less well organised for both a safety and driver comfort. • Talked about a number of ‘heroes’ he met in Ukraine from everyday people to dental facial surgeon known as the face builder. The injuries suffered are horrendous. • Showed us specialised mobile treatment units doing incredible reconstructive surgery in war zone. • Visited rehabilitation facilities as well as being able to enjoy some site seeing in Lviv. • A very worthwhile mission. Questions were taken and Kathy thanked Kevin for his presentation. Greetings were given from Whitstable and Canterbury Sunrise Rotary Clubs. Final Toast given by Pete. Next meeting 2/10/25 7.30 for 8am breakfast at the Monument.
