Minutes of Rotary Breakfast Meeting 18th September 2025 PRESENT Sue, Godfrey,David M, Lesley, Gerry, Sheila, Robert, Dave C, Andrew M, Andrew B, Maureen, Maggie, Anne, Kathy, Pat APOLOGIES Pippa, Spyros, Reggie, David K, Elaine, Fiona, Jean, Pete, Paul WELCOME Ronan and this weeks speaker Debbie from Revival Cafe BIRTHDAYS Trevor GRACE Maggie SPEAKER Debbie from Revival Cafe (58 High St, Whitstable) talking to us about how the cafe is funded. It is part of National Mind East Kent, but not funded by them, it is self funded a Government Grant was given to refurbish and decorate the building The cafe is run by local people for local people Open 6 days a week Mon & Tues evenings 7-8pm, Holistic therapeutic support, including reiki, and therapeutic art and coaching Tues 10-11am, Cuppa Club, 10-12pm Make Mend & Motivate Weds 10-11am Womens Wellness, 5.15-6.45pm Singing for Mental Health choir, 7-8.30pm MenTalk Drop in and unwind Thurs differing Thursday of the month include Music socials, Young Revival & Revival Lates and Creative adult space Sun Wellbeing Walk and talk They have recently acquired an outdoor space on Salt Marsh Lane Whitstable, which will be used for growing organic foods and seating spaces for people to sit and enjoy the space. The cafe is self funded so do please pop in for coffee/tea etc when passing. FUNDRAISING Golf Day at Chestfield golf course was a great success, Collecting in region of £2,500. THANK YOU to all involved in the organisation and for those helping on the day, and all that donated raffle prizes. The Monument team won the cup this year, and have the cup displayed behind the bar. INTERNATIONAL A shelter box has been donated Invites are going out this week to the local schools for next years W4W Sue has arranged for the Whitstable Theatre to be lit up purple for Polio week this year. YOUTH Maggie is busy ‘trying’ to organise next years Chef Comp, but is still battling against disorganisation…. SOCIAL Cream Tea at The Waterloo Centre Mon 29th Sept 3-5pm Wine tasting at Brenley Farm Tues 30th Sept 12-3pm MEMBERSHIP Sue has filled in the forms and is eager to become a member ALMONER Andrew M let us know that Jean has had her operation and is learning to cope with the new food intake, and apparently still cooking for Andrew.. I visited Marian on Tuesday and she is quite frail but very chatty, and would love to have visitors. XMAS DINNER at Whitstable Golf Club, 11th Dec £35 for 2 courses and £40 for 3 courses GARDENING This Saturday from 9am GREETINGS Greetings from our friends from Apeldoorn RAFFLE Won by Jean Martin MASTER @ ARMS Dave gave many fines and than read a verse from the worst Country and Western song. BOARD MEETING Tues 23rd Sept @ 6.15pm in the Monument Pub Next weeks meeting is an evening meeting at The Monument Pub, please give Robert your food choices by Saturday 6.30 for 7pm Thursday 25th September
