Our Regular Weekly Meeting


Thursday, 21 August 2025 Breakfast meeting Apologies- Pete, Jean, Maggie, Reggie, Sue. Grace from Paul Harbour day was reasonably successful - we covered our costs and attracted a potential member. Hope for Tomorrow sent a letter thanking us for our £50 donation for Bryan coming to talk to us as well as our future support for the charity. Chestfield Funday BH Monday - Event starts at 12.30, David and Gregory will set up beforehand. Two shifts to cover the afternoon. Requested that attendees wear yellow shirts or vests to stand out. Car Parking Tuesday- 3 people on each shift covering from 9-5. Godfrey will send out an email confirming shifts. Sheila’s induction will be next week, gum boots and pigs at the ready Golf day- Raffle prizes needed. WTH 20/9- Bulb planting. Sign up, sheet in book. Cream tea 29/9- Numbers needed asap. Wine tasting 30/9- 12-3pm. Sheet in events folder.  1 AOB- Elaine, Maureen and Kathy attended Whitstable Rotary’s Pig Racing Event. It was a success with many tourists joining in the fun at Cafe 39. The cafe is a potential event space worth keeping in mind.- Pippa and Spyros visited Marian , she had a chat but is bed-bound and quite poorly. She enjoys her talking books.- Spyros and Pippa now have an empty garage! PhysioNet have collected all the equipment they have acquired to go to Saffron Waldron Rotary. Greetings from other clubs- Spyros brought greetings from David Telford of Saffron Waldron Rotary who informed him of their amazing fundraising.- Robert brought greetings from Canterbury Sunrise, president Gary. Raffle won by Sheila - Italian bubbles and British apple and blackberry jam. M@Arms- Members were fined for a variety of misdemeanours, ranging from early morning brandy and Demis Roussos shorts to figs and courgette, pistachio and lime muffins. Dave then regaled us with a ditty about taking a wife. Final toast was given by Anne. Next meeting 28/8 7.30 for 8am at the Monument
