Opening your Heart to Bhutan
Following Emma’s talk to the Club last week David M had looked at our finances and proposed a donation of £1000 to support the Charity to purchase much needed mattresses – the total amount needed is £1800.
This was unanimously agreed by the Club
Spyros and Pippa offered to donate the extra £800 needed.
David indicated that if a 2nd round of District Grants were available we may be able to raise funds by making an application.
Waterloo Centre
Dave C had met with the Manager to discuss their needs – mainly refurbishment. He had advised them to obtain a quote and submit it to the Club for further discussion.
Fridge/Freezer & fridge
David M has these in good working order. If anyone can find a charity to use them to let him know. The charity would need to collect but there would be no other cost involved.
Social
Sue suggested a night at Ale & Antiques in Tankerton as nothing else on the calendar until the Christmas meal.
**Robert can you add a sheet to folder to gauge level of interest please**
International
Nothing to report
Community
Christmas shoe boxes to be in by end of month
Youth
Nothing till early next year
Speaker finder
Gerry has taken over from Chris. A copy of the dates will be circulated with the meeting notes.
It was noted that our next evening meeting (21 November) clashes with an Elvis tribute at the Plough. As this would cause too much noise for our speaker it was agreed to bring our meeting forward to 5.30pm for 6pm – Mel agreed with this – Sue to contact the speaker (a fire arms expert) to check if he can attend earlier.
Almoner
Pippa had been in touch with Marian who sends her regards to the Club
Spyros
In the absence of our main speaker – Spyros regaled us with anecdotes from his medical career.
He then concluded by reminding everyone to take care of themselves and be aware of the testing and investigative procedures available to all e.g prostate/breast screening.
Greetings from other Clubs
Dave C brought greetings from Margate Rotary Club. He indicated they had their own version of Andrew B!
Raffle

Final toast
