Charity Update:

Sue welcomed our guests to the meeting and Emma gave an update on progress at Opening your Hearts to Bhutan, summarised as follows:

·         The Charity is nearing it’s 10^thanniversary

·         Chestfield Rotary has had an impact on projects across Bhutan

·         £750,000 has been raised

·         The lives of hundreds of children have been changed

·         Supplies of clean water and educational facilities have been the main focus

·         Children with special needs are supported to develop their skills and abilities to better prepare them for their futures

·         Two areas in urgent need of support – new mattresses and a teachers accommodation block

Any other business:

·         Sue reminded those planning to attend David Bowley’s funeral to let Pete know asap

·         Gardening at W&T hospital went well David M passed on Marian’s thanks and appreciation from staff and patients

·         Sue circulated the Christmas shoe box leaflets – boxes need to be brought to Rotary by the end of October.
