ROTARY CLUB OF CHESTFIELD
Breakfast Meeting 07.45am for 08.00am Thursday 22nd December 2022 @ the Golf Club

BREAKFAST
Business: On behalf of the members, Pat said a thank you to the golf club's new chef; she feels that breakfasts have massively improved of late.
Upcoming Events: Pat reminded members that we start back after the Christmas and New Year break with a breakfast meeting on 5th January, followed by a board meeting from 18.30pm on Tuesday 10th January at Godfrey's house.
Pat said that Sharon from Red Zebra and Mel from the Plough are joining us fro breakfast on 19th January as our guests.
February 9th will be a guest breakfast. As many members as possible to try to bring a guest. Pete said he hoped that Ian Small will join us in the new year.
David M said he will send out a summary of everyone's meal balance in the near future.
Fund Raising: Paul said he hasn't heard from the school yet about dates for car parking in 2023.
International: Andrew B had nothing new to report.
Treasurer: David M confirmed that we have made a donation of £300 to refitting the hospital in Uganda. Note: although this is an overseas project, the project was initiated and initial funding sourced from the UK. David said that District may send an extra £600 to them.
David said he is waiting for details of where to send the donation of £150 towards the family whose daughter needs prosthetic ears.
Quiz: As a bit of fun, Pat went through a short quiz about who said what in the movies. Questions were by Dave C.
Greetings from other clubs: Kathy passed on greeting from Whitstable. She attended their Christmas dinner, and can confirm that the sprouts were cooked properly. Paul said that he met someone from Faversham Rotary shopping in McNade's.
Master-at-Arms: Nick fined everyone who was not wearing a Christmas jumper. On this day in 1882 Thomas Edison displayed the first electric Christmas lights.
Today is Short Person Day and also Mathematics Day.
