BREAKFAST
Business:
Fund Raising: Nick reflected on the success of the Quiz Night last Saturday. This raised approximately £970. On behalf of the club, Nick thanked Godfrey for all his work in organising the event. There have already been requests for another one; David M said he has booked the hall for (off the top of his head) Saturday 11th November. There has also been expressed an interest in another Race Night. Last Year we did one in August. David M will contact the hall to find a vacant Saturday night in August. Nick confirmed with Paul that we will be OK for volunteers for Car Parking this Easter Sunday 9th April. TWAM is OK, Robert having stepped into the breach last week.
International: Andrew B said he hasn't had a committee meeting yet; his committee members have all gone / are about to go abroad, leaving him like Billy-no-mates. No further news from Apeldoorn.
Any Other Business: Dave C said that it has been on his do-list for a while to update the club's ICE (In Case of Emergency) sheet - in case anyone is ever taken poorly during a meeting or activity. Expect an email about this.
David M has circulated an email about an evening meeting on 17th May with Shelter Box @ St Augustine. This would be a chance to see what our donation provides. The email originated with the Forest of Blean club.
Nick has spoken with Stuart Neame from the Herne Bay club; Stuart wants to stage an event in Herne Bay, presumably and we may be asked to help, as the Herne Bay crowd are pretty elderly (sic).
Andrew asked Dave C to put a reminder in these notes for Robert to insert a sheet about TWAM in the events folder!
Greetings from other Clubs: Godfrey bumped into Mick Taylor from Canterbury (not Canterbury Sunrise). Nick brought greetings from Faversham.
Raffle: Won by Godfrey
Master-at-Arms: Nick told us that today is International 'Fun at Work' Day, also 'Adopt a Ferret' month. In 1938, Teflon was invented.
Final Toast: Was given by David K.
