Business:
Matters Arising: David M confirmed that both our grant applications to District for Crossroads and Red Zebra have gone to District. There is still District money going begging, so David suggests that we make a third application in the joint names of Mel here at the Plough and Red Zebra; this would be to support Mel's provision of meals to local people in need. David confirmed that the application would be within District parameters (Health, Community, Education). Members present agreed to go ahead. David said that we should hear about the success of all three applications by about the end of March.
Fund Raising: Paul asked if the car parking rota could be amended, in particular to cover opening up at -8.00am. Sue will do the latter with Paul. Dave C agreed to switch his shift to Mid-day.
Social: Pat said that ten people are due to attend the bowling tomorrow night. Re the 1st April Quiz Night, Nick confirmed that Trevor will be the quizmaster.
International: Andrew M reminded members about TWAM on 22nd April. David M said we have enough volunteers (just) for Walk4Water on 24th March. Andrew B is in touch with Bhutan to find out how they are making use of the donations we have made.
Social: Pat said that anyone wanting to attend the Umbrella Meal in Canterbury (a black tie do), should contact Forest of Blean.
Membership: Pete said he has had no negative comments on Ian Small's prospective membership. So, he will sort out with Ian a date for the latter's induction. Regarding Sharon's possible membership, Pat said she would speak to her.
Greetings for Other Clubs: None of the latter, but Paul said he has had lunch with Ron Benning, a past member, and Ron sends his regards. Dave C said he has invited Ron and Irene to the Quiz Night.
Raffle: Won by Maureen.
Master-at-Arms: Nick informed us that today is International Rescue Cat Day, and also of course, Book Day. This is also Pasty Week. On this day in 1938, King Kong premiered in New York.
Final Toast: David K
