Breakfast Meeting 07.45 for 08.00am Thursday 12th January 2023 @ the Golf Club

BREAKFAST

Business:             Nick reminded member of some upcoming events.  Sharon from Red Zebra and Mel from the Plough will be with us as guests next week 19th January.  9th February is Guests Breakfast.  Ten Pin Bowling at Whitstable will be on Friday 3rd March.  Meet at 18.30.  The suggestion is that afterwards we go to the new A La Turka in Whitstable High Street (next to Ossie's fish bar).  People who don't want to play bowls can join for the meal.  Not everyone was thrilled with A La Turka.  Dave C suggested the Thai Orchid.  Sue will get menu from A La Turka and the Thai Orchid.

International:    Andrew B said that there will be a 3-line whip for volunteers to help with Walk 4 Water on Friday 24th March.  There will be 8x schools taking part, so we will need a lot of volunteers to see the kiddies safely across the roads.  Everyone please see the sheet in the Events folder, and please put your mobile number against your name.

                                Nick gave out copies of the diary for the next six months to those who needed a hard copy.

Youth Opportunities:     Sue and Robert have agreed to help out with the next round of the Young Chef competition in February.

Fund Raising:      Members are reminded about the Spring Quiz Night on Saturday 1st April.  Tickets are on sale from David M.

                                The next Car Parking will be on Sunday 5th February.

Raffle:                   Won by David K

Master-at-Arms:              Nick said that this is Brain Teaser Month.  Also, on this day in 1966 the TV show Batman began (that's the one with Adam West).  In 1976 on this day Agatha Christie died.
