Business:
Car Parking. We had an unexpectedly good result from last Saturday, despite KCC announcing that car parking in Whitstable would be free. We took £606. David M confirmed, in answer to a question, that about £100 of this was from the card machine.
Young Chef Competition. Margaret thanked her helpers, Robert and David, on the day. Six young people took part. All of the participants received an apron, and a Big Bake-off book. The winner also received a book by Tom Kerridge.
Christmas Meal. Since this is on 8th December in the evening, there will be nobreakfast meeting in the morning.
Tankerton Christmas Market 18th December: Robert hasn't booked us a stall yet; he is waiting to be sure that there will be enough helpers. Can all members please complete the sheet in the events folder, either to indicate 'yes, I can help' or 'no, I'm n/a?'
Christmas Food Collection: Volunteers please meet at Primrose Way at 4.00pm this coming Sunday 4th December. Red Zebra have asked for four hampers for elderly people. Therefore, it was suggested that only one carload needs to go to Andrew & Jean's. The rest can go directly to the Food Bank site on the Joseph Wilson industrial estate (behind Tesco, near the table tennis club).
Membership: Nick anticipates that Jean S, Bob and Chris will take up membership of the club in the New Year.
Proposed Officers & Board members for the year 2023 / 2024: Nick apologised for the late notice of the Special General Meeting this year. Pat is poorly, Dave C has been poorly etc. The proposed list of club officers and board members from the middle of next year will be as follows below.

Safari Supper: Lesley said that only seven people have put their names down for this event in February, and they are all people who are offering food. Could more people indicate their participation in the vents folder, please? If not a lot more join in, Lesley may alter the arrangements in the new year.
International: Andrew B said he has had a nice letter of acknowledgement from Shelter Box. The letter gave indication of how much resources have been sent to Ukraine.
Greetings from Other Clubs:
Andrew B said he attended an interesting talk at Canterbury Sunrise about walking the Camino Santiago pilgrims way. Elaine and Maureen attended a Christmas party organised by Whitstable for adults with special needs.
The Raffle: Won by Maureen
Master-at-Arms: According to Nick, today is 'Day without Art Day' whatever this means. It is also the anniversary in 1955 of the protest by Rosa Parks concerning people of colour being required to sit at the back of public transport in parts of the USA. Also on this day, the first breakthrough took place in the Channel Tunnel (1990), and Sherlock Holmes first appeared in print,
