ROTARY CLUB OF CHESTFIELD
Notes of mee8ng at Chestfield Golf Club 3 November 2022 8am
Present: Pat, Nic, Robert, Maureen, Elaine, Paul, David K, Reggie, Lesley, Jean, Andrew M, David M, Andrew B, Chris, Pippa, Spyros, Reggie, Godfrey, Kathy.

Birthdays: Today is Iain’s birthday and the Club sent him best wishes
Social: Pat confirmed the Christmas meal has been booked. Thursday 8th December at the Crescent Turner. Godfrey will send round details to all and requested numbers, guest names and menu choices asap. Payment to David M - as per his email previously circulated.
Fundrasing: Quiz night November 12th – tickets stll available. To remind all to ensure they log in their car registraton inside the hall to avoid parking charges. (Subsequent to the meetng, Nic has asked for a volunteer to wash the table cloths ).
Car parking – Sunday 26th November – volunteers stll needed (8-10am and 2-4pm) – let Paul know if you can do.
Internatonal: Andrew confirmed he had been sent a request from the African Adventures Founda8on for donatons for school meals. Andrew proposed we send £100, seconded by Jean and agreed by the Club members present. Mercy Ships requestng donation which will be match funded. Andrew proposed we send £200, seconded by Andrew M and agree by all Club members present. Andrew confirmed he does consult with his commicee prior to decision making – if he’s away he may ask someone to act on his behalf. David M is to send an email to all regarding the Kenyan School who have benefited from W4W. He will also send to our supportng schools.
Community: Kathy confirmed she is delivering shoe boxes today and thanked all for donations. Interact induction at Kent College – to be confirmed. They recently held a cake bake sale and raised £280
Youth: Young Chef competion is on November 26th. There may be 2 sessions (am and pm) and so 2 winners. Kathy to discuss with Maggie.
AOM: November 13th – Remembrance Sunday – Nic will be laying a wreath in Whitstable.
November 24th – Emma Hay from the Fraud Squad is giving a talk.
January 31st – Don Cocerill (President Canterbury Forest of Blean) will be giving a talk about Mercy Ships at the Crescent Turner – details to go into folder.
Raffle: Won by Maureen
Master at Arms: Nic did his usual Today is: World jellyfish day, World cliché day and International Stout day Final toast – given by Nic
Next meeting: November 10th - Evening speaker meeting (Mark Harrison) at the Plough – 6.30 for 7pm. All expected unless apologies given to Robert by Sunday 6th!
