Notes of Breakfast Meeting

Thursday 4^thNovember 2021.

Breakfast

Birthdays – Iain’s was yesterday ( we hope he had a good one).

Correspondence:

Lesley had a request from Haven for flasks, insulated bottles, thermal underwear, new underpants for M&W. Lesley happy to collect and take or alternatively donations can be taken to the Methodist Church Hall on Argyll Street, Monday or Wednesday between 2 and 4pm.

District Grant Applications:

 All 3 have been approved by District ( Open your heart to Bhutan, Foodfriends and Rising Sun). We have to await the approval by US before telling our charities.

President’s Challenge:

Lesley asked if everyone could share the information on social media and pass on David M’s email to anyone they think might support us.  Monthly updates on progress will be posted.

Online meal bookings:

Demo still to be circulated once received by Robert. Much discussion about advantages/disadvantages. To be trialled before a final decision made.

AOB:

Environmental survey:

Robert summarised the response we had given to his survey.

Actions as follows:

Easy – Recycle, car share, minimise plastic use

Medium- Grow your own, LED lights, A rated appliances

Difficult – Solar panel installation, Electric cars, Underground rain harvesting ( as done by David M)

Robert to circulate all data via email to all.

Car parking:

Godfrey confirmed parking on 2 days last week generated over £600. Next date is 20^th November and more volunteers needed.

Christmas meal:

Godfrey needs menu choices asap as he needs to confirm to Crescent Turner mid November.

Gardening at Rosebed - 9^th November – 4 volunteers so far – meet at 2pm.

Quiz night: Kathy has a banner for advertising our charities. She will bring next Thursday and give to Nick as she can’t make the afternoon prior to the quiz.

Pat – requested baby photos asap for Christmas do.

Kathy has delivered the shoe boxes and the person in charge of collection would be happy to talk to the club next year.

Spiros was selling his butternut squash

Jean had delivered the donated computer to TWAM

Robert suggested we have a stall at the Tankerton Christmas fare to fundraise ? Splat the Rat. He’ll obtain further details.

Raffle: Both Andrew B and Andrew M won.

Christmas collection cards to be distributed from 22 November.

Master at Arms – in Nick’s absence, Godfrey brought Bertie the Bassett.
