Re: Christmas Food and Clothing Collections 11th December 2016
I would just like to say a very big thank you to everyone in Chestfield who very kindly supported our Christmas Collections on Sunday Evening.
We had a great response, as always, especially from the new roads we added in this year at the top of The Ridings.
We have delivered over 20 “Food Parcels” to needy individuals and families in Whitstable area as well as a very large amount of the additional food collected to Canterbury FoodBank.
The Clothing and Bedding plus further food was delivered to Catching Lives in Canterbury.
To those who donated money (over £220) we used this to purchase additional “priority” food items for Canterbury FoodBank and Catching Lives.
As you can imagine both of these organisations and the individual food parcel recipients, were extremely grateful and asked us to pass on their thanks to you all for taking the time and effort at this very busy time of year to think of those less fortunate than ourselves.
It was also great to see so many children up and about who came to see Santa on his fleeting visit to Chestfield, he hopes everyone has a great Christmas and has already pencilled in a visit again next year – providing you are good of course!
May we take this moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2017.
If you would like to get involved in Rotary yourselves please do get in touch, we would love to welcome you to a meeting, I think you may be very surprised as we are not like most people perceive Rotarians to be!
Kind regards
Nick Robinson
