RC of Chestfield Handover Evening

Our Handover Night was delayed this year to 2^nd July due to a “double booking” at restaurant!

This did not spoil the evening in any way and allowed outgoing President Paul Hooke-Overy to ring the bell one more time – finally got it right!

Paul handed over to our new President for 2015/16 – Wendy Tetley who in return gave Paul a Past President Badge and a vote of thanks from the Club for a great year.

Wendy then handed over her President Elect Bar to Nick Robinson for 2015/16.

Secretary, David Kingham and Treasurer David Mann remained in office for another year.

The evenings second highlight was the presentation of an Honorary Membership to Rotary Club of Chestfield to David Bowley PHF. See separate web page for details.

Trevor Scandrett presented Past President Paul with a copy of the Usborne Illustrated English Dictionary, which we distributed 120 to local schools, recording all the names of our members for his year. Pauls “piece” during his year was when delivering Grace he mixed up the words and said …..”be needful of the minds of others” instead of …mindful of the needs of others…? His excuse was he had never had a dictionary – problem solved!
