Pete’s Update
- 650,000 steps so far, still a month to go. He’d already completed 7000 before
breakfast today!
- 17lbs gone.
- Lost his beard. Needs to grow a new one in time for Christmas

Treasurer
- Sponsorship for Robert’s bike ride - over 300 miles achieved - raised over £535
for Pilgrims Hospices. Well done 
International
- Andrew B proposed we fund another Shelterbox following the recent earthquakes
in Colombia and the Philippines. Seconded by Andrew M and agreed
unanimously. This is the second Shelterbox in Pete’s year, one was funded to
replenish stock following the earthquake Venezuela in early July.
Membership
- Since Harbour day Sarah has made contact with two people interested in
possibly joining us. They will come along to a meeting in the next few weeks.
There was another enquiry that Sarah is responding to.
Humanitarian
- Lesley has spoken to someone at the Horsebridge who may come to talk to us
about the activities they offer for children. She has another potential speaker in
the offing but she’s keeping that one under her hat!

Fundraising
- Car Parking last Thursday raised £478.31.
- Harbour day brought £152. With thanks to Godfrey, David and Robert for their
working setting up the stall.
- Golf day - one more hole needs sponsoring, evening meal numbers by the end of
the month. There is a sheet in the events folder.
- Car parking this Saturday 22/08 is likely to be busy. Godfrey will send out the
shifts email.
Social
- Garden party this afternoon, park pretty. Suggested £5 per person.
- Film evening with hot meal and ices 28/08 at Kathy’s, signup in the Events folder.
- Vineyard tour and Wine tasting 15/09 please sign up, invite friends and family.
- Cheesemakers visit Sue will provide Lamberhurst farm with October dates.
- Ales and Blooms natter and a platter evening, Sue will propose a Wednesday.
Evening meeting we will have access to the marquee at the Monument, Pete has
volunteered to give his Life Talk.
Greetings from other clubs
- A member of Southwold Rotary brought Greetings to us at Harbour Day.
Raffle initially won by David M, finally Pete took home a bottle of Shiraz.
Bertie Bassett aka Master at Arms
- Godfrey brought Bertie back into action fining people for crocs and socks, being
negative, not being here, growing has beans and being gullible. A cross-fine was
issued for the gazebo!
- Godfrey regaled us with a story about a weeping man with a young wife.
Final Toast was given by Spyros en espanol.
