Thursday, 2 July 2026 First Breakfast meeting of President Pete’s year Apologies- Andrew B, Andrew M, Deborah, Jean, Lesley, Paul, Sue V. Guests- Renee and Shane for Whitstable Junior School, Lee from Kent University Sports. Welcome to Ronan who is now officially a member of our club  Pete acknowledged Elaine’s time in the club and her contribution over many years. Grace given by Fiona followed by a delicious breakfast. Walk for Water- Pete thanked all the schools: Whitstable junior (16 years), Hampton (14 years), Endowed (7years) and Blean (6 years) as well as much needed support from the guys at KU Sports, Canterbury Business Equipment and McDonalds all supporting the event for 16 years.- This years event has raised in excess of £3500.- Pete handed over certificates to Whitstable Junior school and the university and to Shane as a high fundraiser along with a David Walliams book. David and Andrew B will ensure all the schools get their certificates as well as the books for their libraries along with Jude Robertson’s book on living with a stammer.- Feedback on the way the money is utilised will be provided to keep the schools up to date.- Walk for Water in 2027 will be Friday 19/3… Treasurers- Final accounts are being submitted to auditors, end of year is as expected.- Annual membership fees are due, please submit by 17/07 into the Club account.- Gift aid forms were circulated for those eligible to complete. 1 - Meal and bank details cards were circulated by Robert. International- Pippa proposed the club fund a Shelterbox to support aid to Venezuela, this was seconded and supported by members. Fundraising- Car parking 4/7 all shifts covered.- Harbour Day 15/8 sheet in the events folder.- Golf day 11/9. Sponsors and teams needed. Social- Cream tea and tractor ride 23/7 12.30, numbers will be given to Brogdale next week.- President’s garden party 20/8 2pm.- Wine tasting tbc in September. Greetings from other clubs- Pete has visited a number venues in his first week starting with Demelza Children’s hospice garden party which was delightful.- He attended Whitstable Rotary handover meeting which included 6 visitors from France. A new member was inducted and President Tony sent greetings.- Pete also attended Herne Bay Rotary handover meeting which sadly only had 4 members present. Roger Wheeldon remains as present. AOB- Pat is at the Craft market at Thirst Love Cafe in Cromwell Road so pop in and see her before or after your shift car parking!- Robert’s Cancer Research 300 bike riding challenge has started, sponsorship form in the Events folder. Presidents challenge 65@65 update- Pete has lost another 3lbs  Raffle won, again, by David M! 2 Master at Arms- Fines were issued for birthday cake candles causing a heatwave , curry for one, beetroot, dressing like a boy named Sue, being a recycled member.- Dave regaled us with a poem about a weekend in Brighton with Enid Blyton!- Do you know why elephants ears? Noddy won’t pay the ransom  Final toast given by Robert. Next meeting 7.30 for 8am at the Monument. Emma Slade will be joining us with an update on Open your hearts to Bhutan
