Pierre Leger and Drew Watson, the founders of Strathearn Cheese gave a presentation to members and their guests at tonight's Guest Meeting. The creation of the firm came about largely through Frenchman Pierre's love of cheese and the fact that they found there were no cheese makers in Central Scotland.
As well as being the founders, Pierre and Drew are currently the only people working in the firm. Consequently, they are at present unable to produce the amounts of cheese that would be required for a contract with major food outlets, such as the supermarket chains - a state of affairs that is unlikely to persist, judging by the reaction of those present tonight.
The Guest Night was attended by 38 folk who thoroughly enjoyed both the presentation and the cheese tasting which followed. Thankfully, Pierre and Drew had a plentiful supply of their cheeses to sell at the end of the meeting.
