Traditionally the Health Melas are planned by the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing (NFHW) each year in Bolton, Preston and other places in the North West and Yorkshire. The aim of the Health Mela has been - ‘’empowering hard to reach communities, to make meaningful lifestyle changes’’.
The NHFW organised annual Health Melas are supported and facilitated by a large number of partners - including the Rotary Clubs, Universities, NHS Trusts, CCGs, Local Councils and Healthcare Charities.
Due to COVID
19 outbreak, the traditional event had to be reluctantly cancelled. The magic
of internet means that the opportunity to visit the virtual Health Mela 2020
event is open to all people from the comfort and security of their own homes or
anywhere else, with access to a
PC, smartphone or tablet!
You only have to log on to the links, to open your personal gateway to Heal Mela experience, giving easy access to the wide range of health-related information, advice and entertainment the Mela has to offer.
If you can’t join the live event on the 14th of November, don’t worry! You can still watch the recordings of the day at a more convenient time, and return as often as you wish, in the following weeks after the event.
Also, the NFHW website will be updated with new and useful information all the time. Just log in:

A message from
NFHW Chair Professor Romesh Gupta PHF, OBE:
MY colleagues and I are delighted to invite you to come and join us at the 1st
Virtual Health Mela. Please bear in mind that this is our first attempt to
work in a new medium and forgive us for any shortcomings you may notice! We hope
that you will find much of the content relevant and helpful in the present,
trying circumstances. Now more than at any time we need to make that extra
effort to preserve and enhance the health and wellbeing of our families and communities.
We hope that you enjoy the new Mela experience – please let us know what you
think of it.
