A most convivial Christmas Meal was held at The Ro Bowness with members past and present enjoying each other’s company. Due to social restrictions over the last two Christmas seasons, it was such a pleasure to be able to enjoy each other’s company once more at this festive time.
The evening concluded with our sad goodbyes to Alan & Susan Katz as they move to be nearer family at Lymm. Alan has been a stalwart of the club since joining us from Windermere Club. His enthusiasm and encouragement in bucket collecting for various charities has been legendary. With his knowledge and guidance, the club has been able to raise thousands of pounds for various disasters over the years, together with collections for the Homeless at Christmas. He will be greatly missed by the club. We hope the hamper of local goodies will remind them of happy times here at AK.
Our Christmas Meal was followed a couple of weeks later, by a most enjoyable evening at the home of PE Colin & Davina. Our grateful thanks to them both for hosting a very happy evening of friendship, delicious food and drink.
As we move into 2023 we send our very best wishes to all members, past & present, for a Happy Healthy New Year and look forward to continuing the very worthwhile work of AK Rotary.
