Duck Race 2019

Over £2400 raised for Alzheimer's Research UK at this years
DUCK RACE!

Our fourth Annual Duck Race for Alzhiemer's Research UK was a great success. Thanks to the efforts of many members duck sales were a magnificent 2137 with many visitors to the Park buying last minute Duck Tickets prior to the race!

We were blessed with dry weather, better than forecast, and perfect water conditions in the ghyll. As a result, the extended course provided very interesting and exciting races.

Thanks to everyone present for making the event run so smoothly and especially those who spent over an hour in the water, with special thanks to Langdale & Ambleside Mountain Rescue who kindly provided very valuable assistance with 'Duck Retrievement' and the Coop Community Fund for sponsorship of prizes.

Initial figures show that over £2400 was raised for ARUK. The winning duck was owned by Richard, a visitor from the North East who won the first prize fo £200.

Another great event by AK Rotary!
