Ambleside Kirkstone Rotary Club held their 6th Charter celebration with a stylish buffet in brilliant sunshine on the shore of Windermere.
The perfect setting of Hodge How added to the relaxed atmosphere of the occasion when some 70 guests enjoyed a magnificent gourmet Cumbrian barbecue.
Whilst formalities were kept to a minimum, the Club received a presidential citation from ADG Arthur Jones, and the highlight and finale of the occasion was when a bemused (and later delighted Bill Dorrell) was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship by District Governor Elect Ron Duxbury. A Walk, not a race, from the Parish Centre along Under Loughrigg to Pelter Bridge and returning for a delicious cream tea at the finish
