A great day had by all, the sun was shining and we have raised a whopping £2100 for Prostate Cancer UK.
For several years this event has raised money for the Brighter Futures Radiotherapy Appeal but as the fundraising target was achieved 18 months ago, we switched focus back to Prostate Cancer UK, which is a very topical charity for middle-aged golfers.
This fund-raising event was only possible with huge support from the directors of Brinkworth Golf Club (Kay & Justin Witchard) who allowed us to hold our event at the club, and also from the Rotary members who managed the event and made major contributions to the fund-raising.
The organisers of the Golf Day-Harry McLaughlin and Chris Tidball were ably supported by Ian Cuthbertson (Scorer), John Walduck (Starter), Jane Ashley (Photographer) and our Friends of Rotary, Eleanor McLaughline and Jan Cuthbertson (Raffle) and Lesley Cross (Starter) and behind the scenes, Hayley Woodall did all our notices, signs and score-sheet.
Our President, Colin Sweet, presented prizes to:
Winning Team-Dezy Barrowman, alan Jenner, Kevin Holmes and Colin Driscoll with an incredible score of 52
Runners up-Chris Riley, Malcolm BAker, Terry Newman and Darren McKenzie on 49 points
Longest Drive (Men)-Paul Jackson
Longest Drive (Ladies)-Amanda Barker

Alongside the golf, the raffle raised a staggering £600 with contributions from:
ALDI, Crumps the Butchers, Rouse & Sons, Bassett Electrical, Radway Trophies and Pentel plus many generours donations from individuals within the club.
