Brighouse Gala support
While we don't organise the gala we do provide useful support
2025 Update
Another highly successful Gala was held this June. The weather was most kind and the event was very well attended.
At Brighouse Rotary we again helped on the day at the gates and, whilst their there is no admission charge, we were grateful to receive some generous donations and we gave out all the gala programmes. Prior to this we sold advertisement space in the programme to local businesses and concerns and helped to put it all together.For the work and help we provided the Gala Committee gave our club some £1,500 which we shall use to support our charities and good causes.
Update - the Gala will be going ahead this year on Saturday, 29th June 2024 but as Wellholme Park is not available the event will be held on Lane Head Recreation Ground.
Brighouse Gala happens in Welholme park each year on the last Saturday of June.
Preperations for our support start in March as we tour the businesses in Brighouse selling advertisment space in the Programme. Once agreed we agree the copy and artwork then pull it all together into the programme before sending to the printers.
On the day itself the Rotary club co-ordinate the ticket sales and checking on the gates as the visitors arrive

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
more A professionally run development course for the leaders of tomorrow. Attended by those pupils in 6th form and supported by Rotary members.
Santa Float
more The Project Local Santa Float is our annual collaboration with other service organisations in Brighouse. Walking the streets collecting money!
Rotary Shoeboxes
more Working with Halifax Rotary we distribute Shoeboxes to the schools in our area to be filled with gifts for those less fortunate.
Community Service Student Award
more Nominated Secondary School students receive a cash prize and the Rotary Club of Brighouse Trophy for Community Service.
Tree Planting
more An initiative with the other Rotary clubs in Calderdale to plant trees to improve the environment
British Legion Poppy appeal
more Helping the British Legion by distributing the poppies to shops and businesses around Brighouse as well as helping on the sale tables in Tesco and Sainsburys.
