OUR YEAR AS IT UNFOLDS

A brief taster of what get up …

Breakfast Meeting 22nd Oct 2025

Another great breakfast meeting.

First up we heard from our International Committee member Graeme about our collaboration with 10 other local clubs and the donation of 800 water barrels to the Kilifi area in Kenya.

The plastic rolling barrels replaces the need for water to be carried on the shoulder/head. A task often undertaken by women and children over distances of up to 10 miles.

Our involvement in this project, which also involved 4 Rotary Clubs in Kenya, was financed by funds raised at our annual Quiz Evening in January.

Next, it was with great pleasure that  we introduced @Irwin Mitchell Solicitors represented by @Laura Williams and @Claire Taylor as our first ever Corporate members . This is exciting news as we’re confident we can achieve great things together.

A cheque was then presented to @Lisa Hoare from Sage House for £7500,  part of the proceeds from our recent Golf Day. David Adams @Henry Adams, our main Golf Day sponsor, made the presentation on our behalf .

All this and a great breakfast at the Minerva Theatre, meant it was a fantastic start to the day.

Dear Glyn, and all the members of The Rotary Club of Chichester Harbour,

I wanted to write to say a massive thank you for choosing to support Sage House for the second year at your annual charity golf day at the Chichester Golf Club. All your hard work and effort paid off, resulting in a great day raising an incredible amount of money. We are extremely grateful for the very generous donation of £7000, plus the £500 which was raised on the day through the Sage House auction prizes. Thank you so much for the opportunity, we cannot thank you all enough for your fundraising efforts.

No one should have to face their dementia journey alone.  Together we can ensure we are meeting the rising needs for dementia support across our local community.  As Fiona, one of our customers, reflects: “If anyone else is in a similar position get in touch with Sage House. They understand the issues and really are very helpful and you feel you're on that journey with them which you know is a good feeling, you feel safer”.

To meet the growing need for dementia support across West Sussex, we’ve recently launched our mobile Wayfinding Advice Bus. This service visits communities throughout the county, reaching those who can’t easily travel to Sage House or who may not yet know about our support and community hub in Tangmere

As a charity, we rely on raising £1.2 million annually, with only 2% of our funding coming from government, NHS, or local authorities. Your support makes it possible for us to maintain and expand our services, ensuring we can continue helping more people living with dementia.

We are truly grateful for the support of our wonderful community, thank you for making all of this possible.

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite any of your members in for a tour of Sage house to show you are facilities and services, please let me now if this is of interest.

With kindest regards
